Achim Reichel, Machines and Friends 1973-10-20 FM Nachtmusik im WDR - UPGRADE from master tape - TRAP 05V2 36 years after that radio show this Version is an essential upgrade and replaces the first version from May 2007. WDR outro 0:14 total time 1:00:18 h Line-Up: Achim Reichel (diverse) Olaf Casalich - percussion (from Ougenweide) Jochen Petersen - clarinett, saxophone (maybe) Peter Franken - drums The Nachtmusik-shows began at 10 o'clock the same evening they were broadcast live from 11:05 until 12 o'clock. My research about Achim Reichel showed, that really the whole period between The Rattles/Wonderland and the Shanty-Music-LP is deep hold in the dark. A.R. had published 6 LP's with those electronic and meditative music, but only one of them was published as an CD for a short time. A.R. himself published 1998 "Echos aus Zeiten der grünen Reise", a compilation of that forgotten era with sometimes shorted tracks instead of tracks with the full lenght. Maybe in the meantime since 2007 there was another release of GRÜNE REISE. links (2007) http://www.achim-reichel.de/home/timeline/ar_machines/konzert/presse.html http://www.babyblaue-seiten.de/index.php?albumId=7679&left=genre&genre=18&content=review http://www.achim-reichel.de/home/timeline/best_of_gruene_reise/pressespiegel/interview.html http://www.achim-reichel.de/home/timeline/ar_machines/pressespiegel/presse.html http://www.achim-reichel.de/home/timeline/best_of_gruene_reise/main.html http://www.headheritage.co.uk/unsung/albumofthemonth/476 (review-link thanks to propylaen) http://www.germanrock.de/musiker/r/reichel_achim.htm (also thanks to propylaen)) Upgrade notes: During the first transfer in 2007 I balanced the channels out as far as possible, so I got a lot of hiss from the weaker channel into the mix. Otherwise I left it raw. So the task was quite easy now using just the left channel of this mono recording to reduce the hiss essentially. Now, I did a new transfer and compared it. The left channel was very consistent in Volume. It's just fantastic - no deterioration of the tape in the last years, and probably none before in 36 years! That said the tape was not the very best (scan included). I made stereo of it, because some want to burn the files but not convert them before. No EQ, no noise reduction, no speed correction, no artwork. Volume boosting up to -0,3 dB. No artwork. Transfer and upload on Dime Oct 2009 by trapper. Enjoy - and share as you like but please include all info.
