Peter Gabriel - Bremen 87 - TRAP 15/TM

This is a new remaster of 1st gen tapes. Transferred and treated by tom. These tapes have never been in circulation before.

The history of this remaster: A friend offered me the 1st gen tapes of this show in 2007, when we talked about audience recordings. She couldn't recall the name of the taper, who made her this gift a long time ago. But I was told he had always been accurate in taping some shows. I tried a first transfer and it came out quite well, with a lot of sharp treble - and in stereo!
Soon I asked tom (of TM Productions) to do a professional transfer. The tapes were of a very good quality which developed even better after transfer and basic Cedar treatment. However, tom was too busy then, so he suggested to offer the original 24 bit files to Jesper Moonen (of MUPPET fame) instead. Jesper was interested but did nothing with them during the following years. He recently told me, that his interests have moved away from remasters in the meantime.

So I eventually wanted to release this show on my own. Tom suggested to check the files to see if something could be done here to improve them without big efforts and so he applied a bit of EQing and a few cuts (where the 1st gen tape was redundant due to cassette flips), filled a 10 secs hole in the middle of No Self Control and did some fade-ins and -outs (Biko at the end was incomplete). It sounds definitely worthwhile now and is certainly an improvement over the existing bootleg in Simon's database.

As you all can imagine I am very pleased by tom's generous treatment. All credits go to him and, of course, to the taper, who did a very fine job.
